Go Meteorology Team!!
Guess who made it to the next level of the intramural softball finals?!?!
WE DID!!
It's really cool because last week we had a game and won by default and were notified that we made it to the semifinals!
All of us were exicted about the whole thing until we stayed awhile and this other team had wanted to play a game. We decided to play with them and although it was a scrimmage we were beaten pretty bad. It wasn't until this Wednesday that we found out who were up against. We noticed that most of the players on the opposing team looked familiar and I noticed this one girl with huge calves and it occured to me that that they were the same girls that creamed us last week.
We started the game pretty slow with the opposing team scoring two runs but we came back with some really nice "D" and started becoming more aggressive with the bat. I think 3 girls hit homeruns and Karen had a grandslam. It was awesome! Robert, our coach, put me at 1st base which I was completely unprepared for but last season at Sunset I learned quite a bit from Coach Baker's confrontations with my little sister. She would tell her what she was skrewing up and how to fix it and I would just listen to her advice because I would try and help my sister when we would go back home. However, I freaking regret it!! Valerie is playing at MOLINA (NOOOOO!!, Betrayed by my own sister) as their 1st base WOMAN.
I've gotten the hang of it and Robert thinks that I'm doing great but I wouldn't be as great if I didn't have my team mates.
It feels so great to be back in the diamond and part of a team.
Although most of them are grad students in the field of meteorology except Casey she's an undergrad too but also in meteorology. I'm the only non-meteorolgy major.
We beat the team 11-3!! We're qualified for the next level but I found out from Robert that the game was scheduled for next Tuesday!! Argh, flipping Sbisa and work!
Robert said with the current signs that it'll probably rain next Tuesday and I quote,"Yeah, you can tell it's gonna rain. The signs are all there."
I told him that no it was not possible to tell that it was gonna rain. I'm not a meteorology major but hopefully it does rain or I'm going to have to be "creative" when I tell my manager that I can't be at work on Tuesday.
What?!?! I can't miss the playoff game!!
Cross your fingers so that it can rain next Tuesday!
I wanna play too. Or, I can get the day off and bring my A game.
~Sigh~ I love softball.
Aww, there's a 30% chance of rain.CRAP. It's like Mother Nature is getting me back for that receipt I left on the floor. What?!?! I was trying to throw it away in the trash can when a gust of wind blew it out of my hand and was swept away. By the time I could run and get it was too far to attempt to get it. You would have done the same!!
